American Diabetes
Association provides clear helpful advice for adults and children
about how to manage their disease by eating right. There are
recipes and exercise programs to try. The site includes the latest
research on diabetes and ways to donate to the organization.
American Dietetic
Association is the largest organization of food and nutrition
professionals in the country. If you are looking to find a
nutrition specialist near you, you may search their database by zip,
city or state. The Web site includes a nutrition tip of the day
and a monthly nutrition feature.
Delicious
Decisions is a part of the American Heart Association Web site
devoted to healthy eating. It includes tips on eating out,
choosing food, and healthy recipes.
Dole 5 A Day is
a wonderful, fun and interactive Web site for teachers, food service
workers, parents and kids. There are activities to explore while
learning about the importance of fruits and vegetables.
Senior Nutrition Awareness
Project publishes weekly and monthly
newsletters for seniors. It is co-sponsored by the University of
Connecticut and the University of Rhode Island.

Google Groups is a search engine for groups. Use search
terms such as nutrition, or healthy eating, low fat or low carbs to find
others interested in those topics. One such group is called
sci.med.nutrition.

Nutrition and Your Health: Dietary Guidelines for Americans is
published jointly every 5 years by the Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA). The
Guidelines contains authoritative advice about how good
eating habits can improve health and decrease the risk for major
chronic diseases. They serve as the basis for Federal food and
nutrition education programs.
