The Hartford Public Library’s Asylum Hill/West End NeighborhoodTeam is a group of employees from the Mark Twain Branch and the Central Library. We seek ways to communicate and collaborate with neighborhood groups to help solve problems and/or celebrate the community. We participate in the Asylum Hill Problem Solving and Revitalization Association, Asylum Hill Education/Cultural Committee, Asylum Hill Public Safety Committee, West End Civic Association, and West Middle School Parent/Teacher Organization. We listen, learn, and link to these groups through attending meetings, conducting read-aloud programs at daycares and schools, presenting at school open houses and other school events, training teens at the West End Community Center, assisting with City Scan initiatives, and partnering with applicants for Pride Blocks.
