| Please read the following guidelines before submitting an online obituary request. |
What sources are available to search? |
| We will search either the Hartford Courant or the Hartford Times. |
What information do I need to provide? |
| We must have the deceased's name and date of death. |
How many days of newspapers will be searched? |
| The newspaper will be searched three days following the date of death. |
How many requests may be made at one time? |
| Three requests will be searched at one time. |
How long does it take to receive the results of a search? |
| On average, you will receive a response within one month. |
Is there a fee for this service? |
| Yes, each microfilm that is searched costs $6.00. An emailed one page obituary from microfilm will usually cost $6.00. Each item that is sent by surface mail costs an additional $2.00. Each hard copy costs $ .10. Hence, a one page hard copy from microfilm sent by surface mail would cost $8.10. |
When do I pay for the copy? |
| Payment is due upon receipt of the copy and invoice. |
How is payment made? |
| Make check or money order payable to the Hartford Public Library. |
