Now three years post 9/11 our country has had time to reflect on the events following the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history. That event prompted many changes in our government and laws.  The most dramatic of these changes was the Patriot Act of 2001. The Patriot Act is officially known as PUBLIC LAW 107–56—OCT. 26, 2001. It is a 132 page document that is best read with Adobe Acrobat reader. Click here for a free download.

Civil Liberties

The Keep America Safe and Free details the American Civil Liberties Union effort to fight the war on terror's infringement on our civil liberties with the passage of the Patriot Act.  Read about their Challenge to National Security Letter authority.
