One of six Letters about Literature national winners—Sophia Harrington of West Hartford—visited the Connecticut table with the author to whom she wrote her winning essay, Peter Jenkins, author of Walk across America. The Festival was free and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and featured appearances and book signings by more than 70 award-winning authors and illustrators, including Connecticut resident Mo Willems, author/illustrator of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, Knuffle Bunny, Leonardo the Terrible Monster, and Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay up Late; he made his presentation in the Children’s Pavilion
