- Join the Connecticut Center for the Book, a program
of the Hartford Public Library, for the 2nd annual Connecticut Book Awards
recognizing those individuals who have made a notable contribution to the
state’s literary heritage. Connecticut Forum’s president Richard Sugarman
will be master-of-ceremonies. Helen Sheehy, author of Eleonora Duse,
the engaging biography of the legendary Italian actress who inspired
writers and enamored audiences, will be the keynote speaker. Awards will
be given in categories of: biography or memoir; children’s book author;
children’s book illustrator; design; fiction; nonfiction; and, poetry.
