Naturalization Eligibility Worksheet
The
Eligibility Worksheet will help you decide if you are eligible
to apply for naturalization. Some basic requirements include:
q Must be at least 18 years old.
q Must be a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years, or 3 years if married to a U.S. citizen.
q Must have been physically present in the United States for at least 30 Months out of the previous five years.
q Must have the ability to read, write and speak English. For more information on English requirement and exemptions click here.
q Must be able to show good moral character.
q Must be willing to take an oath of allegiance to the US.
q For men ages 18 – 25 years, must have registered for Selective Service.
