Citizenship CLASS
Class meets for four Saturdays,
starting the first Saturday of every month.

Learn what you need to know in order to pass the citizenship test,
and what to expect during the test.
Mini-Orientation
If you can't attend a Citizenship Class, schedule an appointment for
a one-hour mini-orientation.
Visa
Lottery Program
Each year
(beginning early October and ending early December) the U.S. State
Department conducts a lottery through its Diversity Visa program to
distribute applications for 50,000 immigrant visas. Winners are
selected randomly. Entries
to the DV lottery must be submitted online at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov.
Paper entries or mail-in requests will not be
accepted. There is no fee to enter the lottery. To
facilitate the application process, the Downtown Library provides
applicants with computers, photograph scanners, and assistance using
the equipment. By appointment only.
IMMIGRATION FORUMS
Stay
current! Immigration lectures, are regularly scheduled to provide
information about various immigration topics, e.g. relative
petitions, adjustment of status, public assistance, etc.
(Interpretation into other languages will be explored upon request.)

IMMIGRATION APPLICATION FORMS
Get help
with searching for immigration information retrieving forms, and
registering for an email account. Library staffs are NOT attorneys
and CANNOT provide legal advice. Applicants are required to fill
out the forms themselves.
INTERPRETATION SERVICE
We can communicate in your language by using an over-the-phone
interpreter service.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES
Weekends and weeknights
Register
for a class! Classes start three times a year: September for the
fall session; January for the winter session; and June for the
summer session.
SELF-STUDY
Study on
your own schedule and at your own pace, using a wide range of
self-study resources: computer programs, DVDs, and CDs. Materials
are available for studying on-site or for borrowing and studying at
home. Staff is available to assist you in your selection.
