The interdisciplinary nature of the International Studies major requires mastery at an advanced level in one modern foreign language or competence in two foreign languages at the level required by Yale College for one; some familiarity with the history, society, economics, or politics of at least one country or region other than the United States; competence in introductory economics and in quantitative analysis; and an understanding of aspects of earth and/or ecological science or technology."
