With your library card you can borrow a pass to visit the Wadsworth Atheneum, Mystic Aquarium or CT State Parks and Forests just as you would a book or video!
Wadsworth Atheneum Art Pass
The ARTpass offers free general museum admission for up to two adults and two children (ages 6–17) visiting the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.
Special exhibitions may require additional fees. The pass is not valid during the museum's annual fundraisers including Festival of Trees and Traditions and Fine Art & Flowers, or other special events. ARTpass may not be combined with any other discounts.
ARTpass may be borrowed overnight.The pass can be checked out at the Downtown Library's Public Services desk. Customers may call ahead to have the ARTpass held for pick up on the same day. There will be a charge if ARTpass is returned late or is lost.
CT DEP State Parks & Forests Day Pass
Any patron who has a library card can check out the pass. Library patrons may borrow the pass, free of charge for one to two days and present it at any state park or forest for free admission. The pass may be used at all the major state parks with admission or parking fees including Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, Sherwood Island State Park in Westport or Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme. The pass also provides free entrance to any museum located at a state park such as Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, Fort Trumbull State Park in New London and Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam. Passes can be checked out at the Youth Services Lending Desk (3rd Floor) at the Downtown Library.
