A place like no other, Hartford Public Library empowers thousands of families with opportunities to grow and learn. Every day, the Library provides families with free access to a variety of multilingual and multicultural services and resources in an environment that is safe and welcoming to all.

Hartford Public Library is more than just pages. It is the window to knowledge and understanding of the world.

Our focus is connecting people to the Library’s collections and programs. The books, the staff expertise, technology and other resources are means through which we empower people. Children, families, immigrants and refugees, adults of all ages who live and work in the City of Hartford make use of the Library in many ways. There are more than 850,000 visits to the library annually.
