The Hartford Public Library Code of Conduct is as follows:
We have a right to free and open access to the Library.
We respect the rights of others to use the Library appropriately.
We respect the Library’s collections and understand their value.
We use the Library’s facilities in a manner that ensures the comfort and safety of others.
We respect the work of the Library’s staff to ensure a positive and safe environment.
We maintain zero tolerance for drug abuse, alcohol abuse, possession of weapons, harassment, discrimination, or violence of any kind in the Library.
We know that the Library is committed to our welfare as a safe, welcoming and inclusive place and as an institution that promotes and supports literacy, learning and innovation.
