We have a new system for reserving passes called MuseumKey. Click here for instructions on how to use it.

With your HPL library card you can borrow a pass to visit museums, theaters, and attractions just as you would a book or DVD!

We have an on-line museum pass reservation system called MuseumKey. Use it to reserve a pass with an HPL adult or teen card up to 60 days in advance. Almost all of our passes are printable, meaning you can make a reservation and then print a confirmation page from home or the library to bring with you to the museum. No need to return anything to us! For Boundless card holders, the MuseumKey system will not recognize your Student ID number. Please call the library directly and a staff member can reserve a pass for you. Non-residents cannot reserve passes in advance but may check out a pass for same day use by calling or visiting the library.

Check with each museum directly to confirm their operating hours as sometimes they change without notice.

American Clock and Watch Museum This pass admits 2 adults and 3 children free of charge.	Basketball Hall of Fame This pass allows up to six admissions to the Hall of Fame at the reduced admission rates stated on the pass. Additionally, the pass is valid for 10% off any photo purchase at the "HOOPSHOTS" Photo Center.
Carousel Museum and Museum of Fire History Pass admits four individuals for free.	Children's Museum/Roaring Brook Nature Center Pass provides one free admission with every paid admission to the Children's Museum or Roaring Brook Nature Center. Maximum of four free admissions per day.
Connecticut Museum of Culture and History Formerly known as the Connecticut Historical Society. The pass admits up to two adults and four children free of charge.	Connecticut River Museum The pass allows up to 2 adults and any children under the age of 18 free admission.
Connecticut’s Old State House The pass is valid for general admission for up to four visitors. It cannot be used for admission to special or after-hours events.	Connecticut Trolley Museum This pass allows two adults and two children admission to the CT Trolley Museum, and one ride on an antique trolley during their visit. Admission to the CT Fire Truck Museum here on our property is also included! During general admission days, patrons visit at no charge.Patrons enjoy a 50% discount off admission during some special events* such as Winterfest, Pumpkin Patch, Superhero & Princess Day, and more as listed on our calendar. DURING SOME SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS WINTERFEST & PUMPKIN PATCH HALF PRICE ADMISSION PREVAILS. THE PASS CAN NOT BE USED FOR Rails to the Darkside, Storytime Trolley, Storytime with Santa, Elf on the Elgin & Breakfast with Characters. To visit the Museum during a Special Event, you likely need to pre-register at www.ct-trolley.org. Please call the museum ahead of your visit to ensure hours and pass useability.
Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art Pass admits two adults and four children free of charge.	Eric Sloane Museum Pass admits two adults and four children free of charge. Open seasonally May-Oct
Florence Griswold Museum Pass admits two adults and two children under 12 years old for free. May not be combined with other coupons or passes. Fees may apply for special exhibits. The museum charges an event surcharge of $5 per person over 12 (even with the pass) during their special fall event Wee Faerie Village (dates vary yearly). This charge is applied whether visitors intend to see the faerie houses or not. Children under 12 are admitted free thanks to an anonymous grant. Hartford Symphony Orchestra Two free tickets to select performances.	Henry Whitfield State Museum Pass admits two adults and four children free of charge. Open seasonally May-Oct.
Hill-Stead Museum Pass provides 50% off general admissions tickets for up to two adults and 2 children (under age 18).	Lutz Children's Museum Pass provides half-off the cost of admission for up to six people. Children under one are always free
Mark Twain House & Museum Buy two adult tickets, get one adult ticket free (2 for 1) OR buy one adult ticket and two child tickets for the price of one full price adult tickets (3 for 1) for the Mark Twain House Tour (General House Tour.) OR Buy up to three Living History Tour (Specialty House Tour) tickets at a discounted rate.	New Britain Museum of American Art Pass admits four people free with no age restrictions, however, one adult must accompany children under age of 16. Valid for general admission only. Additional fees may apply to special exhibitions, events, and programs. Library pass cannot be used for Docent-led tours.
New Britain Youth Museum/Hungerford Nature Center This pass provides four free admissions to the New Britain Youth Museum and/or the Hungerford Nature Center. Children under two enter free at the Museum and children under three for the Nature Center..	New England Air Museum This pass will allow the pass holder and up to five visitors 50% off regular admission rates. Children 3 and under are always admitted for free. This pass is not valid for pre-arranged group tours, our home school program.
Noah Webster House Admits up to two people for guided tours during regular museum hours (children under age 6 are admitted for free and all children must be accompanied by an adult). FYI, some days a guide may not be available, so a self-guided tour with a tablet is offered. This pass does not cover admission to special programs and events.	Norman Rockwell Museum Pass admits (2) people for a discounted rate of $10 each. Ages 0-18: Always Free
Old New-Gate Prison and Copper Mine Pass admits two adults and four children free of charge. Open seasonally May-Oct.	Prudence Crandall Museum Pass admits two adults and four children free of charge. Open seasonally May-Oct
TheaterWorks Two free tickets to a performance.	Wadsworth Atheneum ATTN HARTFORD RESIDENTS: Through a partnership with the City of Hartford and the museum’s longtime corporate partner Aetna, the Wadsworth Atheneum developed Wadsworth Welcome, a program to offer free admission to all Hartford residents. To find out how the program works visit the museum’s website www.thewadsworth.org/wadsworth-welcome.
White Memorial Conservation Center and Nature Museum Family pass allows two adults and up to four children (under 6 years are free) to tour the grounds and museum for free.	The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center Admits up to five visitors for free and offers a 10% discount in the gift shop.

Connecticut Science Center 20% off general admission for up to four people. This is a coupon that can be picked up at any library and does not need to be returned.	Connecticut State Parks, Centers, adn Historical Buildings This pass covers entrance fees for two adults and four children to Gillette Castle, Dinosaur State Park, and Fort Trumbull State Park. Please note there are no longer parking fees for CT registered vehicles at any state park. This pass cannot be reserved in advance. It must be picked up and returned to the Park St. Library @ the Lyric. It checks out for two days. Please call for more information and availability 860-695-7500.

New Britain Museum of American Art

Pass admits four people free with no age restrictions, however, one adult must accompany children under age of 16. Valid for general admission only. Additional fees may apply to special exhibitions, events, and programs. Library pass cannot be used for Docent-led tours.

New Britain Youth Museum/Hungerford Nature Center

This pass provides four free admissions to the New Britain Youth Museum and/or the Hungerford Nature Center. Children under two enter free at the Museum and children under three for the Nature Center..

New England Air Museum
