The Library on Wheels (LOW) is committed to bringing literature, resources, and a sense of community to all neighborhoods in the city of Hartford. We aspire to connect residents with their nearest HPL location and provide services for those who lack convenient access to a Library in their neighborhood. 

Visits are conducted to community locations, including senior centers, farmers’ markets, schools, literacy events, and more. The LOW attends community events by request, while being open to partnerships with community organizations for bi-weekly, monthly, or yearly visits. 

We offer:

• Library card registration (as eligible)
• Programming (in collaboration with host)
• Access to Library books (vehicle contains a collection in several languages for adults and children)
• Free materials (collection removed books, etc. when available)
• Information on library events, resources, and services
• Other library materials
