The Downtown Library, 500 Main Street, is open Monday through Thursday 9 am to 6 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. All other Library locations are currently closed to the public. From the Downtown Library, you can use a computer; fax, copy, print or scan; and, make an appointment for Passports, Municipal IDs, Notary Service, to visit TAP or secure research time in the Hartford History Center. Hartford Public Library maintains several Community Collections throughout the city at high traffic locations such as barber shops and shelters. Community Collection books may be borrowed or taken permanently. A library card is not required.
